Dallas Burrow had a lot of living in a short amount of time when he headed to Nashville in 2018 to record his album Southern Wind. The record finds Burrow bidding goodbye to a number of vices and taking a last look at the whirlwind of his young adulthood.
“There are songs on the record that recount those wandering, partying days,” Burrow says, “and there are songs that tell the story of me becoming grounded and settling down. In a way, it’s a chronological story about the various parts of my life. I’m saying goodbye to the young party animal I used to be, and settling into a newfound, more mature version of whoever I am.”
Burrow recorded the album with producer Eric McConnell, and was joined by all-star musicians such as guitarist Kenny Vaughan, bassist Dave Roe, drummer Pete Abbott, guitarist Frank Rische, lap steel player Chris Scruggs, fiddler Billy Contreras, and others.
