Last night, DittyTV premiered a new episode of the Americana Connection featuring Oh Boy Records recording artist and Sacramento-based singer-songwriter Tré Burt. This coming Friday (8/27) marks the release of Burt’s sophomore record for Oh Boy, You, Yeah, You, which was produced by Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Waxahatchee) and features Kelsey Waldon, Phil Cook, Amelia Meath, and others. Burt cut the record in just five days in Durham, NC, and with that same immediate and independent spirit, he brought a few songs to Downtown Memphis where he performed solo for DittyTV’s Vibe & Dime Sessions. Take a look!
While Burt was visiting the Vibe & Dime, he made time to catch up with Americana Connection host Cyrena Wages to discuss his musical roots, his upbringing, the story of how he got signed to Oh Boy, what it means to him to be a person of color in the folk music realm and much more. View their interview below and be sure to order your copy of You, Yeah, You at this link.
