We obviously love Americana and Roots music. We revere and respect the past and we’re excited about the future. So now we invite you to join us in the commitment to the preservation, development, and advancement of original Americana and Roots music.
DittyTV, the Memphis-based television network dedicated to Americana and Roots music, has formed The Ditty Foundation, a nonprofit organization that looks to preserve musical contributions of the past while providing education and advancement opportunities for current musicians. The goal is to ensure a future where Americana and Roots music generates even greater cultural, educational, and economic benefits to the world.
DittyTV has also opened a new retail store, the Vibe & Dime, which sells records, books, instruments, vintage items and DittyTV merchandise with 100% of the proceeds supporting the Foundation. Occasional live music performances are planned for the retail space as well. The Vibe & Dime is next door to the DittyTV production facilities on South Main Street in Memphis. DittyTV and The Ditty Foundation provide a full suite of artist development and support services including media production, promotion, distribution, and educational resources. The goal is to help turn musical talent into professional success by equipping outstanding musicians with the tools, media assets, and networks needed to build sustainable careers.
The Foundation provides all of the media from concert tapings, broadcasts performances to a global audience, and assists in record and tour promotion—all at no cost to artists.
DittyTV can be enjoyed on any connected device including SmartTVs, Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, ChromeCast, and TiVo-equipped cable boxes. The network has been broadcasting from Memphis since 2014 and has aired videos or concerts for hundreds of artists, from those with big names to others who are just breaking into the music industry.
The network offers a tremendous opportunity for artists beginning to make a name for themselves. “We want to make sure emerging artists have a home on our network in addition to established artists,” said DittyTV COO Amy Wright. “Every established artist was an emerging artist at one point.”
As a digital network, DittyTV is available not just in the United States but worldwide. About 30 percent of the DittyTV viewership is from outside of the U.S. and the network is always looking at how to evolve, exploring innovative technologies and continually expanding onto new platforms.
